‘They did not just fix my AC’: Delhi woman gets emotional after AC technicians stop their work to admire her paintings

Sometimes, it is the simple things that can make our day. A dog wagging its tail after they see you, a stranger offering an act of kindness out of the blue, or an unexpected compliment from someone who leaves you genuinely happy. These are the moments that make us feel truly seen and appreciate the little things in life. Not long ago, a Delhi-based software developer, Mehak Vithal, experienced something similar that left her truly emotional. She dropped a video of the sweet moment on Instagram.

Although working as a techie at a reputed firm, Mehak Vithal also harbours a deep passion for paintings. So when two AC repairmen arrived at Mehak’s house to fix her air conditioner, they couldn’t help but pause their work to admire her artworks.

AC service men love woman’s paintings

The video opened to one of the men standing near the wall adorned with multiple illustrations, including landscape drawings, car sketches, portraits and other colourful creations, drawn on cardboard. Admiring the creations, he asked Mehak whether she had drawn them herself, to which she agreed. The technician looked genuinely surprised by the work of art and touched the paintings, presumably to check whether they were real.


He was soon joined by his fellow work partner, and both of them simply gazed at the artworks with nothing but awe. When one of them picked up a cap hung on top of one of the illustrations, Mehak revealed that the vibrant embellishments on it were also done by her, adding a fresh wave of curiosity among the service men. The video concluded with the duo taking pictures of the artworks.

The simple yet heartwarming exchange left Mehak emotional and she expressed her glee in the caption. ‘They did not just fix my AC; they made my day as well. Such wholesome and genuine reactions, my heart is so full right now,’ she wrote. The post also received multiple lively reactions from the internet. ‘So wholesome’ commented a user.

‘Best thing to wake up to today’ noted another. ‘That's such an amazing feeling, being praised by someone who doesn't need or want anything from you. Oh, wholesome indeed,’ wrote someone else. So far, the video has clocked over 5.3 million views.
