These two medical students dancing to 'Rasputin' in their scrubs is winning the Internet

The Internet, and world, can use all the cheer it can get during these trying times. And that is exactly what this dance video by two medical students from Kerala is doing.

The video, that has gone viral on social media, shows Naveen K Razak and Janaki Omkumar dressed in scrubs, dancing to Boney M’s 1978 song 'Rasputin' in their college (Thrissur Medical College) corridor.

Razak had posted the video on his Instagram handle on March 23, and it has already garnered over 306K likes.


“Take more chances. Dance more dances. Thankyou @janaki_omkumar for your valuable time. Inspired from @vansecoo,” the fifth year student captioned his post.

The duo are part of a dance crew in their college.

Talking about the video going viral, Omkumar - who is originally from Thiruvananthapuram and is a trained classical dancer, told TOI, "A few days ago, my relatives in the US and Canada started calling me saying they watched the video. That's when I understood the video has shot through the roof."

Razak, who hails from Wayanad, also told TOI, "Even during the lockdown, we used to shoot our individual dance videos and make split-screen videos for social media. For a while now, the Rasputin song and people shuffling to it has been trending online. So, we checked out one of those videos and decided to make our own one day, after class. All we wanted to do was make a reel for Instagram."

A week after their video started going viral, Razak posted an illustration of the duo, dressed half in their scrubs and half in clothes to dance, thanking everyone who was involved in the process of creating the video.
