Malayalam cinema has been making waves in recent years, and ‘Theatre – The Myth of Reality’ is one of the standout films of 2025. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sajin Baabu, the movie gained international attention when its trailer premiered at the Cannes Film Festival (Marché du Film) in May 2025. The film has been praised for its contemplative storytelling, striking visuals, and its exploration of the line between myth and reality in everyday life.

For those who missed the theatrical release, ‘Theatre – The Myth of Reality’ is now streaming on Manorama Max starting February 20, 2026. The film comes with English subtitles, making it accessible to non-Malayalam speakers. Plot and Storyline

The movie revolves around Meera and her mother, who live a quiet life on a secluded island in Kerala. The narrative raises the question of what is truly real versus what is shaped by perception and online attention.
