The truth behind my beautiful saris is my husband: Indu Shahani, principal of HR College

Indu Shahani, the principal of HR College, is known for her choice of saris. But she does not choose them. Her husband Ranjit Shahani, the managing director of Novartis India, does.

“The truth behind my beautiful saris is my husband,” she told us at an event. “He buys them all, since our marriage three decades ago.” She also says that her husband’s choice of saris results in compliments regularly.

“Buying saris has been his passion and he buys them from all parts of the country. He remembers the colours which I have and has full knowledge of the different types of saris from different states.”

Ranjit Shahani also buys matching accessories, making his wife’s job much easier. She may be the principal of HR college, but he’s the professor of the art of sari selection.
