When and where to watch The Taj Story online
After completing its theatrical run, The Taj Story is now ready for its digital premiere. According to OTTPlay, the film will begin streaming on March 13, 2026, on Lionsgate Play. Subscribers to the platform will be able to watch the film from that date. The story follows Vishnu Das, portrayed by Rawal, a veteran guide who has worked at the Taj Mahal for more than 30 years. His life changes suddenly after a private, drunken conversation is recorded and goes viral. In the clip, he questions the accepted narrative surrounding the monument’s origins and suggests that it may have once been a Hindu temple or palace before the Mughal era.
Once the recording spreads, he faces social isolation and professional setbacks. In an attempt to restore his credibility, Das files a Public Interest Litigation. What follows is an extended courtroom battle, primarily between him and Advocate Anwar Rashid, played by Zakir Hussain. Their arguments focus on historical documentation, architectural theories, and interpretations of the Mughal period.
The narrative stays largely within courtroom exchanges in the second half, making it a dialogue-heavy drama.
