'The Social Reckoning' star Mikey Madison reveals what kept her ‘tethered to the ground’ after the 2025 Oscar win
Following her remarkable Academy Award win, Mikey Madison has opened up about the importance of staying humble. With gratitude towards her family and friends, she feels supported and grounded. Rather than succumbing to pressure for a perfect role ...

“I have some really incredible people around me, like my family, friends that help keep me, like, tethered to the ground,” the actress told PEOPLE. “I don’t know in terms of advice; I’m not sure, but my brothers are constantly reminding me that I’m just their sister. Yeah, I’m being humbled,” she added.
Madison further told the news outlet that she did not feel any sort of pressure to find the perfect role after her Oscar win but instead stumbled into a role that “felt right.”
In ‘The Social Reckoning,’ Madison will be seen essaying the role of former Facebook employee Frances Haugen. This marks her first film since her Oscar-winning role in Anora.
Hitting screens internationally on October 9, 2026 (Friday), ‘The Social Reckoning,’ written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, delves into some of the crucial chapters of Facebook's legacy.
The story is told through the real-life story of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by ‘Anora’ star Mikey Madison, and Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White), who were the duo behind the 2021 ‘Facebook Files’ PR disaster for the company.
The entire film will revolve around the character of Mark Zuckerberg, played by ‘Succession’ star Jeremy Strong, who is at the center of all the drama. The heroic Haugen and hard-working Horwitz provide the emotional core of the film.
