Writing a cheque is perhaps the easiest kind of philanthropy. The difficult kind is where one must invest time, effort and thought to create something of value.

These leading names from the worlds of arts, business and sports understand that, as they decided to swap their day jobs for a few hours in the artist’s studio recently.

Each paired up with a leading artist to create an artwork which will go under the hammer next month in New Delhi.

The proceeds will go to an NGO, founded by former cricketer Kapil Dev and led by Vivek Khushalani, which works for education and senior citizen upliftment.
