'The Kashmir Files' hits box-office collection of 'Bachchhan Paandey', Akshay Kumar-starrer mints Rs 37.25 cr in opening weekend

Hit by the juggernaut 'The Kashmir Files', Kumar's latest movie earned just Rs 37.25 crore in the opening weekend.
Film critic Taran Adarsh said that the Anupam Kher-starrer eclipsed the business of 'Bachchhan Paandey' and all the other films.
On the release day (Friday), it showed a promising growth of Rs 13.25 crore at the box office. But, during the weekend, it did Rs 12 crore, each on Day 2 and Day 3, respectively.

'Bachchhan Paandey' broke the Day 1 box-office collection record of Ranveer Singh's '83' and Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', which earned Rs 12.64 crore during Christmas and Rs 10.50 crore, respectively.

'Bachchhan Paandey' is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and written by Nischay Kuttanda and Samji. It also features Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Abhimanyu Singh, Snehal Daabbi and Saharsh Kumar Shukla.
The film's story revolves around an aspiring director (Kriti) who wants to make a film on a deadly gangster (Akshay).
