In an interview with USA Today, she said plainly, “I’m at a point in my career when I’m tired of this being a secret. I’m tired of people debating if I’m a real person or if I’m three men. Why She Used a Pen Name

Cohen first chose to write as Freida McFadden more than a decade ago when she published her first novel The Devil Wears Scrubs in 2013. At that time she was a medical doctor working as a resident. Even while handling complex medical responsibilities, she became one of the most successful thriller writers of recent years.
