You've seen the Animoji demo on the iPhone X — those cute animated characters that can move in sync with your face and match expressions with you.

A lot of people probably covet the X just for this one feature.


Animoji are eerily accurate because the feature is enabled by sophisticated depth sensors specific to the iPhone X.

Well, with FaceRig, you can have a similar experience on almost any phone with a front camera.

It may not be as accurate as the iPhone X but it's pretty good.

Just record a neutral expression of yours first and swap between one of the available avatars.

A few avatars are included for free while others can be unlocked by paying or accumulating points.

You can also change backgrounds or use one of the masks (similar to another app MSQRD).

There are no other ads within the app, which is nice.

And yes, you can capture photos and videos to share to your heart's content.
