Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, who will be sharing screen space in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, captivated audiences with their unconventional on-screen romance in The Drama. The film, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, premiered on the big screens on April 3. Although the dark romantic comedy received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, viewers heaped praise on Zendaya and Pattinson’s remarkable performances. Now, those who missed the movie in the theatres can tune into the OTT space as The Drama is ready to stream soon.

The Drama: OTT streaming and cast details

After being available in the video-on-demand format, The Drama will now premiere on HBO Max on July 31. Unlike its earlier VOD release, where viewers were required to pay a rental fee, subscribers need not pay anything extra to watch it on HBO Max.

The movie, backed by A24, also stars Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, Hailey Benton Gates, Sydney Lemmon, Hannah Gross, Anna Baryshnikov, Michael Abbott Jr., Zoë Winters, Damon Gupton, Jeremy Levick and Jordyn Curet in key roles.

The Drama: Plot synopsis

The Drama revolves around Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Robert Pattinson), who happen to meet each other at a coffee shop and after one awkward conversation, the duo eventually start dating and decide to get married. But one night spent with two of their friends changes the course of their lives when each of them starts revealing their darkest secrets. Emma’s confession, however, sets forth an uncomfortable chain of events that puts her relationship with Charlie in a tough spot.

What follows is a story of deception, trust, and psychological tension where audiences are forced to think: how well do we actually know our partners and can we love a person unconditionally despite their past? Ultimately, The Drama becomes a gripping exploration of vulnerability, the high cost of honesty, and the question of whether a relationship can survive the weight of the absolute truth.
