The coolest gadgets to check out this week!
From the new Xiaomi and HTC phones to Microsoft Surface 3, these gadgets are a must have for enthusiasts.

Xiaomi Redmi 2A
The new Redmi 2A is the cheapest smartphone from Xiaomi till date. Priced at just 499 Yuan (about US$80), the Redmi 2A is like a trimmed-down variant of the Redmi 2. Instead of the Snapdragon 410 processor on the Redmi 2, the 2A uses a quad core processor supplied by Leadcore. Surprisingly, most other features are the same: you get the same 4.7-inch HD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and 2,200mAh battery. It also has dual SIM slots, dual cameras (8MP rear, 2MP front), microSD slot and 4G. The phone will be available in China from April 8, 2015 and we expect that the India launch will be soon.
Onkyo DAC-HA300
Aimed at audiophiles, this portable music player from Onkyo doubles up as a headphone amplifier and digital to analog (DAC) convertor. The device has an OLED display, navigation buttons, a microSD slot (up to 128GB supported) and a rechargeable battery that lasts for 7 hours of playback on a full charge. Constructed of aluminium, the HA300 is compatible with iOS & Android devices and can even be used with a computer without installing any drivers. It is priced at about $740 and will be available in international markets from April 2015 onwards.
HTC One E9+
Don’t be fooled by the name, HTC One E9+ is not the successor to the flagship HTC One M9 announced last month. Instead it is a dual SIM phablet with a 5.5-inch screen sporting a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution that is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Inside the 7.5mm unibody is a 2Ghz octa core Mediatek processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and a 2,800mAh battery. On the back is a 20MP camera that does full-HD video recording while the front has a 4MP Ultrapixel camera. Other features include a microSD slot (up to 128GB supported), front-facing stereo speakers, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, barometer and HTC Sense UI 7.0 based on Android 5.0. No details have been announced on price and availability so far.

Microsoft Surface 3
Starting at just $499, the Surface 3 is a toned-down version of the Surface 3 Pro. It has a 10.8-inch display (1920 x 1280 pixels) and weighs just 622 grams. It’s powered by an Intel Atom x7 processor with 2GB RAM and you have a choice of 64 or 128GB storage. It also has a full-size USB 3.0 port on the side, a 10-hour battery life and comes with full Windows 8.1. If you like, you can get the optional Surface magnetic keyboard cover, the Surface pen for jotting notes (both shown here) or a docking station for additional ports. It will be available to purchase starting May 5, 2015 in select markets only.
