After closing its theatrical run last year, The Conjuring: Last Rites is now set to arrive on OTT, bringing the long-running horror franchise to a formal close. The film marks the ninth and final entry in the Conjuring Universe and the last on-screen chapter for paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Released in cinemas on September 5, 2025, The Conjuring: Last Rites performed strongly at the box office and later emerged as the highest-grossing film in the franchise. The Conjuring: Last Rites will begin streaming on JioHotstar from February 13, 2026. The film will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, making it accessible to a broad Indian audience. The OTT release comes nearly five months after the theatrical launch. Apart from its subscription release on JioHotstar, the film is also available on Prime Video as a rental title.

Confirming the streaming debut, JioHotstar shared the announcement on Instagram along with the film’s trailer. The platform wrote, “They’ve faced evil before. This time, it’s personal. #TheConjuringLastRites creeping into your screens this February on Friday the 13th in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on JioHotstar.”

What the final Conjuring film is about

The Conjuring: Last Rites is inspired by the real-life Smurl haunting case from Pennsylvania. The story centres on two families — the Warrens and the Smurls — whose lives intersect through a disturbing paranormal event linked to an antique mirror.

The Smurl family begins experiencing violent supernatural disturbances after bringing the mirror into their home. As the situation worsens, Ed and Lorraine Warren step in to investigate what initially appears to be a routine case. However, the entity haunting the Smurls is soon revealed to have a personal connection to the Warrens and traces back to one of their earliest investigations.

The film also brings Judy Warren, the couple’s daughter, into the narrative, raising the emotional stakes. With Ed’s health deteriorating and the danger growing closer to home, the Warrens are forced to confront both the demon and their own past before it’s too late.

Along with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, the film features Ben Hardy, Mia Tomlinson, Tony Spera, Steve Coulter, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton and Shannon Kook.

The film is directed by Michael Chaves, who previously helmed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II. The screenplay is written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing and James Wan. James Wan and Peter Safran, who helped establish the franchise with The Conjuring in 2013, return as producers.
