The balancing act! Here's how Afrojack juggles DJ and daddy duties

Nick van de Wall, professionally known as Afrojack, knows how to pull a late night. The world famous artist is used to getting in to bed at 7am. And so, daddy duties must have come easy when his daughter Vegas was born in 2012. Afrojack shares his tot with his ex-girlfriend Amanda Balk and says that while things have changed, he’s still working as hard as he can — for his daughter’s sake.

He tells ETPanache, “I didn’t want it to change my work. It gave me a separate responsibility. Work comes first for me and that is the best way for me to be there for her. So instead of completely dropping everything, I just made sure that everything is arranged for the future.”

The DJ makes sure he’s constantly pushing himself even though it can become taxing, but the big picture helps keep him focussed. He adds, “I try to put the pressure on myself to keep performing and taking it to the next level, which is difficult sometimes. But in the long run, it’s going to be best for all of us.”.
