Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi’s smartphones are loaded with top-notch hardware. They run the latest Xiaomi MIUI 7, which offers a lot of customisation options to enhance the Android experience.

Smart SMS filter Messsage box constantly flooded with promotional messages? MIUI 7 features a smart SMS filter, which detects messages from your frequently used contacts or priority contacts and stacks them together under one folder. It also filters the promotional message in a separate folder to make things easy.

In-built call recorder While it’s not a new addition to MIUI 7, Xiaomi MIUI comes with an in-built call recorder, which can automatically record the incoming and outgoing calls. You no longer need to download any third party app.

Gallery lock There is now no need to browse the Google Play store to download any application or gallery lock. MIUI has a built-in locker that can protect your sensitive data from being compromised.

XXL text font When activated, the mode revamps the entire interface to correctly display the text in larger font — without breaking other elements. Most of the smartphones offer a size till XL, but with MIUI 7 you can go XXL.

A separate folder for baby pictures This is for users who love to take pictures of their babies. MIUI 7 features a handy ‘Baby album’ feature, which automatically detects all the baby photos in your gallery and assembles them together.




Reading mode With constant viewing, the blue light from the display can affect our eyes and mess with our sleep pattern. To minimise the ef fect, MIUI features a reading mode, which changes the screen hue to a warmer shade — yellow — thus filtering the blue light. The yellow light is easy on eyes and also reduces the risk of cancer.

Custom quick panel toggles Most of the time we deal with WiFi, Bluetooth, screen rotation, data on/off and a number of other settings via the quick settings accessible through the notification panel. With MIUI 7, you can arrange these quick settings icons as per your preference.
