1. Gym shoes

Keep a separate pair of shoes for the gym to avoid bringing in bacteria from the roads into your workout space.

2. Water bottle

One tends to drink a lot of water at intervals while working out, so a functional water bottle is a must.

3. Hand towel

To wipe your sweat and hands. Dab on anti-bacterial to keep clean.

4. Skipping rope

If the treadmills are all occupied, you don’t have to waste time waiting for one. Start your warm up with your own skipping rope.

5. Deodorant

Spray on some deo to feel and smell fresh.

6. Shower kit

All your shower essentials, from shower gel to cologne and perfume, especially if you’re going to head to work straight from the gym.

7. Gym T-shirt

Don’t stay in sweaty clothes for too long. It’s best to change into a fresh tee immediately after working out.

Denims or formal pants are a big no-no while working out. A comfortable pair of shorts or track pants are highly recommended.

9. iPod

Download your favourite music and listen to that to avoid any distractions while exercising.

10. Heart rate monitor

This should be a permanent fixture in your gym bag. A heart rate monitor will always tell you exactly how many calories you’ve burnt and if you’re overdoing it.
