Jr NTR recently lost 15 kgs for a film
With the release of the teaser for Dragon, Jr NTR fans went gaga over the superstar’s new lean look. Fans were awestruck to see him in a new avatar - as the deadly assassin Luger. In a behind-the-scenes video, director Prashanth Neel revealed NTR Jr had dropped no less than 15 kilos for the film.

Neel recalled he had gently suggested the actor to consider shedding some kilos for the role and the RRR actor left no stones unturned to emerge leaner and fitter. “He didn’t shoot for the next four months, and he lost about 15 kgs at one point of time. I asked him to stop many times in between because he started looking frail and became paler but he didn’t stop,” Prashanth shared.

While fans were left gob smacked at the superstar’s transformation, his trainer Kumar Mannava revealed the fitness regimen that helped him lose 9.5 kilos in a span of seven weeks.


In a chat with the Deccan Chronicle, Mannava explained the goal was not just overall weight loss but achieving a more toned look. To achieve this, NTR reduced muscle-building exercises and supplemented it with cardio-based training and moderate resistance exercises. He exercised daily from 45- 90 minutes.

He also made changes to his diet. Instead of depending on the traditional protein-heavy diet which is often recommended for muscle building, he opted for a low protein, low calorie diet which helped him shed muscle mass, leaving him with a toned physique.
