Telugu film director Krish marries famous Hyderabad doctor. Who is Dr Priti Challa?

Director Krish Jagarlamudi is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Ghaati, which stars Anushka Shetty. The teaser for the film, released recently, has already generated a lot of buzz. Alongside his professional commitments, Krish has prepared for a significant personal milestone—he has tied the knot with Dr Priti Challa, a Hyderabad-based gynaecologist, obstetrician, and fertility specialist.

According to Times Now, the marriage was held on Monday, November 11 in Hyderabad. The wedding ceremony was an intimate gathering, attended by only close family and friends from both sides. Interestingly, the celebrations align with several special occasions: Krish’s birthday on Sunday, November 10, the wedding on Monday, November 11, and Priti Challa’s birthday on Tuesday, November 12. According to sources, a grand wedding reception is planned for November 16 which will see the attendance of prominent figures from the film industry.

This wedding marks the second marriage for both Krish and Priti. Krish was previously married to a doctor, Ramya and got divorced in 2018. He has now found love once again in another doctor.

Who is Dr Priti Challa?

Priti Challa hails from a family of doctors and is the fourth generation to follow in the medical profession. She belongs to the renowned Challa family from Guntur, the same place from where Krish hails. Reports claim that they have been family friends for a long time and slowly, the duo’s relationship changed from being friends to now, a couple.

According to the Zoi Hospital website, Dr Priti Challa has been practising medicine since 2007. She earned her MBBS from Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai, where she graduated with distinction, and went on to complete her MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the same institution. As a fourth-generation doctor in her family, she now leads Challa Hospital, a family legacy. She was highly inspired by her mother and grandmother, who devoted their lives to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare to women. Priti is also passionate about continuing the mission and making a meaningful impact on women’s health.

Krish Jagarlamudi Works

Director Krish Jagarlamudi, who was initially working on Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Pawan Kalyan, stepped away from the project, which has since been taken over by AM Rathnam’s son. Currently, Krish is focused on his new film, Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role, which is centred on a woman who becomes unexpectedly entangled in the complexities of the weed trade, leading her into a world of unforeseen challenges. The cast includes notable names such as Ramya Krishnan, Vikram Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, and Chaitanya Rao. This film reunites Anushka Shetty and Krish after their critically acclaimed collaboration on Vedam in 2010. Although the release date for Ghaati has yet to be announced, it has already generated much excitement.


Krish has also directed popular Hindi films like Gabbar Is Back in 2015, headlined by Akshay Kumar and Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in 2019.
