An Indian domestic help's annual salary has gone viral on X
A techie had the shock of his life when he found out how much his domestic help earned. Taking to X, an engineer called Aditya revealed he received a shocker when he asked his maid why she came late these days.

She replied that she makes food for four bachelors who stay in four flats and charges them Rs 6,000 each - earning Rs 24,000.

She cleans for two families, earning Rs 20,000.

The total earnings come up to Rs 44,000 monthly equaling Rs 5.28 lakhs per month.

“Meanwhile thousands of educated people are still unemployed…” he wrote.

This revelation led to an epiphany. He realised that no work was small or insignificant. “Realized one thing today: No work is small. Skills + consistency + hard work always pay…” he said.

While some X users agreed to his point of view, one opined that while she earns good it will likely remain stagnant for years.

“What about growth? Even after 5 years she'll earn same or just a little more. One of my seniors started as a Python dev at 20000, then after a year he switched to ML engineer at 25000, after 2 years of changing companies, his salary was 92000 as an ML engineer…” read the comment.

“Hard work is good and we respect it. But this post also shows a big problem in our country. Thousands of students study very hard in colleges for many years. Still they do not get proper corporate jobs. The government must focus on creating new jobs for educated youth instead of just counting numbers…” said another user.

“You are seeing only one side. For this much work, she must be spending around 10-12 hrs of effort.

How much physical wear and tear she would be incurring over the period of time…” read another remark.
