Tech billionaires with yachts
Larry Ellison named his after a Japanese warrior while Eric Schmidt's has a gym that can double up as a disco. A look at how Silicon Valley stars sail in style

Paul Allen
The Microsoft cofounder owns two of the largest yachts in the world. One of them is 303-foot 'Tatoosh', which has a cinema, a swimming pool, a recording studio, a gym, and accommodation for 20 guests. Allen also owns the 414-foot 'Octopus'. It has some outlandish features, including a glass-bottom pool, two helicopter pads and a submarine that can accommodate up to 10 people. It's also the venue for many glamorous parties, including the annual celebration he throws during the Cannes Film Festival.

The Oracle CEO named his 288-foot yacht 'Musashi' after a revered 16th century Japanese warrior. The boat's amenities include two master suites and a basketball hoop.

The IAC CEO and wife Diane von Furstenberg own the 271-foot 'EOS', one of the largest sailing vessels in the world. "I'm sure I'll get hungry for another boat as well at some point, another stripe of another kind," he said in 2007, adding, "Once you're into boats, you either go bankrupt or you keep going."

In 2011, the Google co-founder bought the 193-foot yacht 'Senses' from New Zealand businessman Sir Douglas Myers for $ 45 million. The yacht was designed by Philippe Starck, the legendary designer who also designed Steve Jobs's famed yacht 'Venus'. It has a helipad and a jacuzzi and can accommodate up to 10 guests and 14 crew members.
Eric Schmidt
The Google chairman owns 'Oasis,' a 194-foot super yacht that he reportedly paid $72.3 million for in 2009. The yacht has plenty of amenities, including a pool, jet skis and a gym that can be converted into a disco. Schmidt also owned a 255-foot tugboat yacht called 'Lone Ranger', which sold at an auction in the spring of 2013.
