Team sports offer great lessons for leaders: Leela Group's Amruda Nair

Leela Group scion Amruda Nair’s love for adventure and sports is well-known. Running however tops her list, though not of the treadmill sort. “I like the idea of choosing my own route and running at my own pace, says Nair who also now runs her own business. “Running is the easiest thing I can do and it gives you a lot of freedom,” she told ETPanache in an earlier interview.

But though she has gone solo in business, Nair is a firm believer in team work. As she revealed back then, “Group sports are a great learning process. Many times it is the friendships you forge in the bus that see you through on the field. Such lessons from team sports come very naturally to you in a leadership role when you’re working with people.”
