After getting his first film Tarun was told to look for a different name, since the South Indian film industries already had many actors by that name.

Films weren't the traditional choice for rookie actor Tarun, who hails from a family that's into construction and hospitality. And when Tarun eventually did land his first film, Supari Surya -after studying in New York and doing theatre in Bengaluru -he was told to look for a different name, since the South Indian film industries already had many actors named Tarun.

"It was then that I was christened Virat for films," he says, adding that this name has a certain zing and will appeal to the masses."My first film is an out-and-out commercial entertainer and I have as many as six fights, so I can show off my skills. The film is directed by R Ragh uraj, who has previously made Boss with Darshan," says the youngster, who will be seen romancing Maddhurima in the film.
