'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' becomes the first blockbuster of 2015

Since its release on May 22, Tanu Weds Manu Returns (TWMR) has been doing two things. This family entertainer starring Kangana Ranaut (in a double role), R Madhavan, Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepak Dobriyal, Zeeshan Ayub and Swara Bhaskar, has garnered appreciation from the audience across all quarters and broken many records in the last fortnight.

TWMR, produced by Krishika Lulla and Aanand L Rai, who has also directed it, has earned the distinction of being the first film of 2015 to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark, that too within 11 days of its release. And it's also the first woman-oriented film to have achieved such a box office feat. What's more, this Eros International and, Colour Yellow Productions' venture is all set to make its , grand entry into the presti gious '200 crore club (world wide gross collections).

The romcom achieved this . feat backed by the collabora tive effort of the talented team that includes writer, Himanshu Sharma. An interesting script, brilliant performances by the ensem ble cast, peppy soundtrack and chatpata dialogue had the viewers laughing, crying and celebrating the true spirit of life. Moreover, the movie also brought back family audience into the atres in big numbers.
