India’s currency chest is a colourful one. Here’s a look at the times the new FM’s wardrobe was in sync with the vibrant shades of our money.
Rs 2000 note
Much before the pink of the Rs 2,000 note became recognisable, Sitharaman gave the colour a place of prominence in her wardrobe, sporting it for a profile shoot at her Delhi residence in 2014.
Rs 50 note
During her last few days in her previous role as the Union minister of defence, Sitharaman picked the cool blue of the Rs 50 note while addressing the media at party headquarters.
Rs 200 note
Last month, the current FM stopped by former PM and FM, Dr Manmohan Singh’s residence for a chat, and perhaps some advice. This power of two moment had Sitharaman draped in a sari, in the poppy yellow of the Rs 200 note.

Rs 100 note
On a visit to the Nirma University on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, Sitharaman wore a purple saree, much like the Rs 100 note.
