Swimming and badminton have taught Sotheby's Amit Goyal essential life skills
Goyal, CEO of India Sotheby’s International Realty believes that sports can help in many aspects of life.

An avid swimmer and badminton player, Goyal learnt swimming quite late in life. “Swimming taught me to never give up and that it’s never too late to learn anything in life,” he says.
Goyal then decided to diligently practice. “I started learning by observing others and in no time, I became really good at swimming and started enjoying it thoroughly.
The sport also taught me that if I want to reach my goal faster, it’s better to go with the flow rather than going upstream,” he shares.
Once out of the pool, it is on the badminton court that he learns more lessons. This time it is about not getting on the wrong side of the law.
“Badminton taught me the importance of being alert and agile in business all the time. It directed me to try and go as high and wide as possible while always keeping in mind the boundaries laid down by regulations and law,” he says.
