Swedish Consul General Fredrika Ornbrant’s love for 'paani puri'

When Swedish Consul General Fredrika Ornbrant’s term in India comes to an end next month, one thing she’s going to find hard to bid goodbye to is Indian street food. A fan of paani-puri, Ornbrant reveals that she treated the Swedish delegation to a street food sampling when they were down for the Make in India Week, earlier this year. “We had the state secretary and lot of Swedish company CEOs and MDs who were visiting and we invited them for street food. I had to show them how to eat it (paani-puri) and I realised it would be quite spicy,” Ornbrant says with a laugh. That must have been some feast for the eyes, viewing formidable Swedish CEOs trying to fit a delicate puri into their mouths.
