Sushant Singh Rajput's sister extends support for Ankita Lokhande amid 'Bigg Boss 17' backlash

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, has extended her support to Ankita Lokhande amidst online criticism the latter is facing for discussing the late actor on the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 17.

Taking to her Instagram account, Shweta shared an old picture with Ankita and expressed her solidarity, captioning it with, "We love you, Anki! You are the best and the purest." This comes after Ankita faced criticism for bringing up her past and Sushant Singh Rajput's name on the show.

Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput, who shared a seven-year relationship, first met on the set of the TV show 'Pavitra Rishta'. Despite their breakup eventually, Ankita has maintained a close bond with Sushant's family, and Shweta's recent post is a testament to their continued connection.

Ankita's Mother Speaks Out

Ankita's mother-in-law, in an interview with ABP News, expressed her concern, suggesting that Ankita might be using Sushant's name on Bigg Boss 17 to gain sympathy from the public.

However, Ankita's mother, Vandana Lokhande, defended her daughter in an interview with Galatta India, stating that Ankita never talks about Sushant on her own and only responds when asked. Vandana shared, "Ankita and Sushant lived together for seven years in this house with me. She truly loved him... Ankita never talked about Sushant on her own."

Vandana also highlighted Ankita's ongoing relationship with Sushant's family, revealing that Sushant's sister and father regularly speak with Ankita over the phone. She emphasised Ankita's commitment to relationships, stating, "Once Ankita forms a bond with someone, she never lets it go. She never holds grudges against anyone."

'Bigg Boss' Controversy

Ankita, currently participating in Bigg Boss 17 with her husband Vicky Jain, has been open about her past relationship with Sushant on the show. Despite facing criticism and accusations of seeking sympathy, Ankita's mother has clarified that discussing their shared memories is not inappropriate given their seven years together.
