Sushant Singh Rajput & girlfriend Ankita Lokhande split after six years

The year 2016 has claimed yet another heartbreak. Sushant Singh Rajput and his girlfriend of six years, Ankita Lokhande, have reportedly parted ways. The couple fell in love soon after they met on the sets of a television show in 2009. They had been living together for the last few years. The two were committed to each other and rumours of them being secretly married surfaced quite often. However, they would good-naturedly dismiss the rumours saying, "When we take the plunge, we will let you know."

Of late though, things were on a downslide for the Bollywood star and the TV actress. Rumours of their differences became constant fodder for gossip mills. Reportedly, neither of them could handle the pressure of stardom. With the spotlight being on Sushant after his tryst with fame post a kick-ass debut in 'Kai Po Che!,' it was becoming increasingly harder for the duo to spend quality time together. Not to forget, the constant spotlight on their relationship that became harsher over a period of time.

Earlier this week, they apparently sat down and decided to finally end what was 'a-not-so-happy relationship'. Naturally, it wasn't easy as they were committed to each other. Moreover, the split brought with it an emptiness that was going to be hard for either of them to fill.

Sources say that while Sushant will head overseas shortly for a long spell of his new film 'Raabta' with his co-star Kriti Sanon, Ankita will continue to stay at their love nest in Malad. We contacted Sushant and Ankita but both of them remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
