Nayanthara and Vignesh marriage registered six yrs ago, says affidavit
Reportedly, a relative in the UAE acted as the surrogate.

For superstar Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan, parenthood has brought its share of controversy. The ‘Netrikann’ star, who recently became mom to two adorable twin sons Uyir and Ulagam, has found herself in the midst of a row after it emerged that she had sought the help of a surrogate.
Now it has been reported that the couple have submitted an affidavit to the TN health department. The affidavit claims that they got their marriage registered six years ago. According to a report in the Free Press Journal, a relative of the actress is the surrogate parent of the twins. The relative is a resident of the United Arab Emirates.
Last week, the Tamil Nadu health department had declared that the couple would be subjected to a probe and the state health minister, Ma Subramanian, had said that the couple would need to furnish an explanation. The health department has reportedly identified the Chennai hospital where the twins were born.
According to the Surrogacy Act, a couple should be married for at least five years if applying for surrogacy. The surrogate should be a married relative with a child of her own. The husband should be between 26 and 55 years and the wife should be between 23 and 50 years. The government has been trying to get rid of commercial surrogacy for quite some time now.
The actress and her husband received a lot of online flak after they announced the birth of their sons on social media.

All Our prayers, our ancestors’ blessings combined with all the good manifestations made, have come together in the form of 2 blessed babies for us. Need all your blessings for our Uyir & Ulagam. After the social media update, rumours of the kids being born out of surrogacy spread like wildfire. Earlier in January, the Government had imposed a ban on commercial surrogacy, terming it “illegal”.
The actress tied the knot with her long-time beau on June 9, this year. Many stars including Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajith Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi attended the wedding.
