Superman fans in India finally have a date to mark on their calendars. After months of waiting, James Gunn’s blockbuster superhero reboot is set to make its streaming debut in the country. The film has already made waves worldwide, dominating the box office and generating massive digital demand, but Indian viewers have been eager to know when they can watch it without paying for a rental. Now, the makers have confirmed the official OTT arrival — and it’s coming sooner than expected.

Superman is currently available for digital rent or purchase in both India and the U.S. According to the latest update, the movie will officially release on JioHotstar on December 11, 2025, exactly five months after its theatrical debut on July 11. In the U.S., HBO Max has already added the film to its streaming library. JioHotstar announced the news with a note calling it the number one superhero sensation of 2025 and teased that Superman will arrive on the platform with Krypto by his side. According to IMDb, the global collection stands at $581.1 million.


James Gunn has already begun shaping the next chapter in this revived universe. He confirmed that the sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, will bring back David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult as they join forces to take on an even bigger threat. Plot details remain under wraps for now, but the film is set to hit theatres on July 9, 2027.
