Sunny Leone buys the 'beast' Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Check its India pricing, 4x4 capabilities, engine and other features

Sunny Leone has a new addition to her garage, and it is built for more than just city roads. The actress recently bought a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in Texas, from where she shared a video of the new SUV on Instagram, giving it the nickname, “mama's beast”.

The Wrangler Rubicon is known for its off-roading hardware and eye catching design. While Leone has bought the SUV in the US, the model is also available in India, where its price and features place it in the premium SUV segment.

Why Sunny Leone chose the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

In the Instagram video, Leone explained that the Wrangler Rubicon is a suitable vehicle for Texas because of its off-road capabilities. The SUV is designed to tackle terrain that goes beyond regular paved roads, making its four-wheel-drive system and specialised hardware an important part of its appeal.


The vehicle seen in her video was white and had four doors. Jeep also offers other colour options in the US, including Firecracker Red, Hydro Blue Pearl, Black Clear and Granite Crystal. The American market also gets a two-door version, which is not available in India.

As per reports, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon joins a collection that has reportedly included vehicles such as the Maserati Quattroporte, BMW 7 Series, Audi A5 and MG Gloster.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon price in India

For buyers in India, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is priced at Rs 72.30 lakh (ex-showroom), according to CarWale. The Wrangler range also includes the Unlimited variant, priced lower, and special editions such as the Willys 41 and Whitecap Mojito Limited Edition.

The Whitecap Mojito Limited Edition was launched in India at Rs 73.55 lakh, according to CarWale. Prices are ex-showroom and do not include registration, insurance or other on-road expenses.

Engine, power and 4x4 capabilities

The Wrangler Rubicon gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It produces around 268 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque in the Indian specification.

The SUV also has a four-wheel drive system, so power is sent to all the wheels, helping it maintain traction.

The Indian-specification model also offers up to 237 mm of ground clearance, giving it room to clear obstacles on rough areas.

Features inside the rugged SUV

The Wrangler Rubicon combines its off-road abilities with a range of cabin and convenience features. These include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and power-adjustable heated outside mirrors.

It also offers remote start, a digital driver's display, smartphone connectivity and an Alpine audio system. CarDekho says it has an eight-speaker system with an overhead sound bar.

Other equipment includes LED lighting, a rear-view camera and driver-assistance features such as forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control in the Indian model.
