Karisma Kapoor's children have approached Delhi HC to seek legal intervention.
Karisma Kapoor’s children are now at the centre of a high-stakes inheritance dispute following the sudden death of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur. The automotive mogul, who chaired Sona Comstar, passed away in London on June 12, 2025, after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing polo. While the family mourned, tensions erupted over Sunjay’s massive Rs 30,000 crore estate. Now, Samaira and Kiaan have moved the Delhi High Court, challenging their exclusion from the estate and demanding their legal share, sparking one of the most talked-about inheritance battles in recent times.

Sunjay Kapur’s passing sent shockwaves through his family and business circles. The cremation was held at Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in South Delhi on June 19, attended by close family and associates. Soon after, disputes over his estate surfaced. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, claimed she was forced to sign papers while still grieving, while reports suggested family conflicts regarding the inheritance of his enormous assets.

Bar and Bench reported that central to the controversy is a will dated March 21, 2025, which reportedly bequeaths Sunjay’s entire personal estate to his second wife, Priya Kapur. Karisma’s children allege that Priya, along with two associates, Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma, concealed the will for over seven weeks before revealing it at a family meeting on July 30. They have claimed the document is forged and surrounded by suspicious circumstances, with neither the original nor a copy shown to them.

It further reported that the children have petitioned the court to recognise them as Class I legal heirs and grant them a one-fifth share each in Sunjay’s assets. They have also requested an interim freeze on all personal assets until the matter is resolved. A source close to Karisma previously told ETimes that the actress herself is not involved in the dispute and is focused solely on her children’s future and well-being.
