Sunil Grover undergoes heart surgery; Simi Garewal, fans pray for his speedy recovery

Actor Sunil Grover from 'The Kapil Sharma Show' recently underwent a heart surgery. Grover known for playing humourous roles such as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Guthhi on the popular show underwent the surgery at Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute.

"He had a heart surgery and the patient is absolutely fine now. He should be discharged soon. We can't divulge any more information about his health," the hospital source told PTI.

The development was confirmed by the hospital authorities. The actor is reportedly getting better and is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a day or so.


Owing to the Covid-19 protocols visitors were not allowed to see the actor. However, according to sources, the actor's relative is with him and is sharing his health updates with his family and friends.

Grover, despite his, condition recently shot for a web series in Pune. Following the development, veteran actress Simi Garewal took to Twitter to convey speedy recovery to the actor. “Am shocked that @WhoSunilGrover has had heart surgery. Filling our hearts with laughter & joy..at the cost of his own. I pray he recovers fast, He has formidable talent.& I'm a huge fan!!,” she tweeted.

After the news broke out, Grover’s fans and well-wishers took to social media to extend best wishes.
The 44-year-old actor who began his Bollywood career with ‘Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha’ in 1998 has starred in nearly 20 films.
Grover was last seen in the web series 'Tandav' and 'Sunflower'. He will reportedly be seen in prominent south Indian filmmaker Atlee's next Hindi movie.
