Astrology and numerology seem to be back in vogue in a state that once wore its rationalist and atheist traditions as a badge of honour. Newly minted ministers are said to be rearranging their Secretariat offices according to Vastu, with desks turned northward to attract prosperity. Some have tweaked their names by adding an extra “a” to satisfy numerological prescriptions. We gather there could be a spillover effect: a few politicians from neighbouring states have reportedly sought out the services of the astro advisers associated with the superstar's winning campaign!
