Now that the grand media amalgamation plan between these two large business groups has collapsed, it’s back to the drawing board. Even though a stock merger has been ruled out after all the parties failed to agree on the terms of engagement, plans are afoot to at least share common infrastructure to stop the financial bleed in this flagging sector that has suffered blows from private and even sarkari rivals. Still, most are surprised over the reason for the roadblocks as they were well known to all stakeholders from before. Turns out the global partner in the mix baulked at the idea of providing indemnities against all the dues and conditions precedent.
