Suits & Sayings
Birthday bashes have taken centre stage over great Indian weddings this fallwinter season. And if you are turning 60, then the revelry better be befitting for the man who hates to be imperfect. Keggers at Krakow for as many boys as the host’s age (actually a few more), a bespoke plated dinner paired with vintage wine from the host’s private collection in the poshest Mumbai eatery— these were just the entrées. After a weekof non-stop binging, came the ushering-in party at the sky-high mansion. An intimate affair, we were told, for only 400 from around the world, including many beautiful guests with hair colour that would put a L’Oréal shade card to shame. Over double that were invited for the janta jamboree the following day at the same venue, while the guest list touched 2,500 for a banquet that also coincided with the centenary celebrations of the family’s flagship brand. Milestones should be so memorable.
