The case involving the estate of one of India’s most respected business icons has had a curious journey through the courts. First it came up before a senior judge who has familial ties with the parties and therefore had to recuse himself, something that could have been avoided had court officials done their homework. The matter was moved to another court but the new judge was shocked to note that the case transfer had not been officially recorded and lacked the requisite signatures, especially from his colleague. The latest update is that things have been sorted and the case can go ahead.
