For some of India’s biggest party animals, Christmas in Calangute is still the best place to celebrate. This Delhi-based industrialist may have lost the family jewel as his engineering conglomerate faces liquidation, but invites to the annual new year bash at the palatial seaside villa are eagerly sought after. This year too, more than 100 guests flew in from India and overseas for a night of revelry that went on till breakfast. Just a block away, a similar beach-facing home used to be the den of the king of good times. He’s in exile but his neighbours are carrying forward the tradition.
