Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda & Khushi Kapoor’s debut film -‘The Archies’- is here! Big B calls it the ‘SONrise’, Gauri tells her daughter ‘you did it’

Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ is the ultimate launch vehicle for star kids – Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. The film-maker recently shared a teaser of the film, along with the official poster, and it seems Bollywood celebrities cannot contain their excitement over this new film.

The video takes us into a vintage world and introduces us to a bunch of carefree teenagers. Apart from the three star kids, the film also features Mihir Ahuja of the ‘Super 30’ fame, Dot, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina in important roles. In the teaser, we see them living up the carefree life with picnics in the jungle, and soaking up the sunny days.

The film is reportedly an adaptation of the popular ‘The Archies Comics’ with Nanda playing the role of Archies, Khan being Veronica and Kapoor essaying the role of Betty. The film is set in the 1960s.


Akhtar took to her Instagram account to share the teaser video and wrote, "Ain't nothing like old school. Grab your gang 'cause the Archies are coming soon on @netflix_in!"

The film-maker also showcased the official poster of the film in another post, writing, "Get ready to take a trip down memory lane 'cause The Archies is coming soon only on @netflix_in"

And ever since the teaser dropped, the family members of the star kids seemed super stoked about it.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is Agastya Nanda's grandfather tweeted, "Another SONrise .. my GrandSON .. all the blessings Agastya .. love you."


Big B’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, who is Agastya’s mom also shared the poster and video of the teaser on her Instagram and wrote, “Get ready to take a trip down memory lane 'cause The Archies by @zoieakhtar is coming soon only on @netflix_in”

Agastya Nanda’s sister, Navya Naveli Nanda also said that she was super proud of her baby brother.

Suhana Khan's mother and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri too was very happy to share the teaser video, and told her daughter, ‘You did it’

And lastly, Khushi Kapoor’s elder sister, Janhvi shared a heartfelt message for her. The actress praised the actors of the film ‘for working tirelessly for months to create this world, find these characters start living this journeys.’

The actress wrote, "And my sister!!! @khushi05k I can't wait for the world to see how beautiful you are inside and out. Can't wait to see you shine."

Khushi’s producer dad Boney Kapoor posted, "Great bunch of youthful actors, sky is the limit for all of you working on this iconic venture, you couldn't have asked for a better start to your careers, Zoya & her team are a dream to work , they settle for nothing less than perfect".

Netflix is collaborating with Archie Comics for this film, which Akhtar and Reema Kagti are producing under the Tiger Baby production.The film will be on Netflix in 2023.
