For Vineeta Singh, working out daily drives out the lethargy and is a great stress buster.
Vineeta Singh, Co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics, says that staying fit is important for her physical as well as mental well-being, loves an early morning run to kick start her day:

Fitness first
Staying fit and active is crucial to maintaining physical as well as mental health and wellness, which is why staying fit has always been one of my priorities. It is an important part of my life, one that I can’t start my day without. Working out helps me lead a better life as it acts as a stress buster, reducing mental stress and escalating productivity.

Hustle everyday
I have learnt that consistency is key in anything you do, especially when it comes to exercising. Hence, post lockdown I made it a point to work out every single day, which was a big step for me compared to my three-day workout routine before. Exercising for me usually consists of going long runs to specific distances, mixing it with a few days of HIIT, Tabata circuits and more.

Early bird
I like to start early morning with a long run, this helps me feel refreshed and energised for the rest of the day. Just as music and art do for most, running for me serves as an escape from the mundane. Working out daily drives out the lethargy and is a great stress buster.

Challenge accepted
During the lockdown with uncertain times ahead, I took up a 100 days workout challenge but successfully extended it to 120 days. I even had virtual zoom workout sessions with my friends who kept me motivated and encouraged me to constantly move forward. Looking back this helped me remain calm, focus on my next move and boost my immunity.

Need for speed
During my years at IIM, my friends planned a trip to Mumbai to be a part of a marathon, and it proved to be a life-altering moment for me. It made me realize my passion for running. Running and being an Ironman, marathon and ultramarathon athlete is the one most favourite activity!

Eat ideology
I do believe in eating quality food and trying to make healthy choices whenever possible. Additionally, I don’t always stop myself from eating food that I enjoy, it’s all about balance and eating at the right time. I strongly stand by not skipping meals to maintain a diet and making conscious healthy choices for the food you consume. Always staying hydrated is a hack I swear by, it isn’t something fancy but significant to any diet.

Brain game
Your brain needs an adequate amount of supply of good food as your whole body depends on it. An easy way to ensure that your mind is energetic throughout the busy day is just by having healthy food. I prefer having dry fruits like walnuts and almonds and even seasonal fruits. Since I’m a vegetarian, eating a good number of green vegetables also helps in keeping the mind active.

Mental health awareness
Mental health is as important as physical health, at any stage of life. It is an extremely vital part of life and should be focused on. Mental health issues could affect your thinking, mood, and behaviour, and this would negatively affect your life whether you are physically fit or not. People often don’t take mental health seriously, but it is integral to our well-being.

Running to meditate
Many people meditate or do yoga to keep their souls calm but for me, running has been meditative. It instantly isolates me from my environment and calms me down. Running is my time for self-reflection, an escape from the constant rush of the world. Over the years, it has helped me control my energy levels and become more productive. Going for a daily run, no matter where I am is essential to me.

Goalpost
Currently, I’m quite satisfied with how my fitness journey is progressing. My short-term goal is to maintain my workout routines, and not miss a single day. In the long-term, I do look forward to participating in many more marathons, further challenging myself and pushing my limits.
