Favourite team “Manchester United. The history of the club, the success of the Busby Babes rising back from the Munich air disaster, having a winner mindset and exciting football (at least, till recently) is what makes it my favourite.”
Favourite World Cup moment “Diego Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ on June 22, 1986, made all the headlines, but the second goal that Maradona scored after going past five English players was almost the epitome of perfection. Some people have called it the goal of the century and it’s hard to argue against it.”
A match you would have loved to attend “Brazil vs Italy at Azteca stadium, Mexico City, on June 21, 1970. Brazil won 4-1 in one of the finest displays of attacking football has ever seen.”

Favourite footballer
“Paul Scholes. As a Manchester United fan, I watched Scholes play at the Theatre of Dreams quite regularly. In a stadium, you see the game from a different perspective as you see the whole pitch whereas on TV you tend to focus on where the ball is. Scholes was a master of the pitch. Xavi, Zidane, Socrates called him the complete midfielder.”
