Strike a pose, and then another: Instagram now allows users to add multiple photos in a single story

Instagram stories got a magical new update just in time for the holiday season. Instagram now allows its users to add multiple photos in a single story. The feature is called ‘Layout’ and according to per a tech magazine Verge, it was launched globally on 17 December.

The Layout feature allows the incorporation of up to 6 photos in one story. For the unversed, before the feature was rolled out, users used third-party apps to edit pictures or a ‘trick’ where they simply pasted a photograph in the text box. However, with the Layout feature, Instagram users wouldn’t have to go through such hassles.

Instagram took to Twitter to announce the Layout feature and even shared a preview of how the feature works.



This is not the first time the app has experimented with the stories feature. Back when Boomerang was introduced in 2015, it rendered gif-creating apps useless. Earlier in October this year, Instagram had also launched a Create mode which allowed users to explore Instagram beyond photos.
