Street Fighter digital release details

The iconic video game franchise Street Fighter is returning to the big screen with a new live-action adaptation, bringing together familiar fighters, a major tournament and a conspiracy that threatens to turn the competition into a deadly battle. While fans can watch the film in cinemas from October 16, 2026, those interested in its digital release will have to wait a little longer.

The film is expected to arrive on digital rental and purchase platforms before making its way to a subscription streaming service. However, the makers have yet to confirm the exact dates for either release.

When will Street Fighter release on OTT?

Street Fighter is expected to stream on Paramount+ around mid-January 2027. The film is being distributed by Paramount Pictures, making the company's streaming platform its expected first subscription-based streaming destination.

According to a report by ComingSoon, the movie could arrive on Paramount+ approximately three months after its theatrical debut. Other Paramount releases such as Scary Movie and Scream 7 have followed a similar timeline, taking around 90 days to go from cinema to streaming.

Following this pattern, Street Fighter could be streaming on 14 January 2027. That’s an estimate, not an official announced release date, and the actual schedule could change based on how the film does in theaters.

When will Street Fighter be available to rent?

In mid-to-late November 2026, Street Fighter might be available digitally to rent or buy before its debut on subscription streaming.

The estimate is based on the 30-to-45-day period that Paramount Pictures has followed for some theatrical releases before making them available on digital platforms. Services such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV could offer the film for online viewing, although their availability and release dates have not been officially confirmed.

A digital rental or purchase release is different from a subscription streaming launch. Viewers may have to pay separately to rent or buy the film, while a Paramount+ release would allow subscribers to watch it under their existing plan.

What is Street Fighter about?

The film is set in the 1990s and stars Andrew Koji as Ryu and Noah Centineo as Ken Masters. The estranged fighters are brought together by Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for the World Warrior Tournament.

What starts as a battle between skilled fighters, turns into a larger war involving a secret conspiracy. The stakes increase as the tournament's organizer, M. Bison (David Dastmalchian), has a sinister plot that makes Ryu and Ken face their pasts.
