Steve Jobs is Shikha Sharma's inspiration

The Steve Jobs influence stretches beyond tech companies and startup entrepreneurs — it's filtered into the banking sector, going by Shikha Sharma's latest comments. At last week's launch of Axis Bank's integrated mobile app (which offers wallet, payment and banking services), its MD and CEO Sharma revealed how Jobs was one of her business role models. What struck her was how Jobs always kept customers in mind and had a sleek, consumer-focused design for its products. "Our source of inspiration has been Apple for this," says Sharma.

Meanwhile, the launch also saw the bank's brand ambassador Deepika Padukone share the stage with Sharma. There was a fair bit of a struggle from the organiser's side because it was the first time that Axis Bank had held a media interaction with its brand ambassador. Padukone exuded savoir faire, but you could see the others grappling with the photographer blitzkrieg and personal questions being fired at the actress. You know what they say — all in a day's work.
