Sophie Turner's suspense drama is all set to debut on OTT
Steal is a forthcoming six-part suspense series led by Sophie Turner, scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime Video on January 21, 2026. Designed as a gripping and socially reflective narrative, the show explores the widening divide between wealth and poverty, the shadowy world of financial wrongdoing, the pressures of a rising cost of living, and the ethical uncertainty people confront when basic survival becomes uncertain. At its core, the series examines how ordinary individuals are driven to extreme decisions when pushed beyond their limits.

To mark the announcement, the streaming platform revealed the official poster on Instagram, signaling a point of no return as the story hurtles toward its release. The imagery and messaging suggest a reality where desperation clashes with unchecked greed, and where seemingly normal lives are forced into situations that permanently alter their course. The tone makes it clear that once events are set in motion, escape is no longer an option.

The trailer, running for just over two minutes, presents Turner in the role of Zara, a quiet, unnoticed office worker trapped in a dull routine. Her day unfolds with casual banter and jokes shared among colleagues, reflecting a workplace defined by boredom rather than danger. Zara appears detached from any sense of urgency, unaware that her predictable existence is on the brink of collapse.

That fragile calm is violently disrupted when armed, masked intruders burst into the office. Zara and her co-workers are confronted with a horrifying demand: raise an enormous sum of money or suffer fatal consequences. From that moment onward, the narrative spirals into turmoil. Fear escalates, moral boundaries blur, and instinct takes precedence over principle. Zara’s previously uneventful life is abruptly reshaped into a nightmare where every choice carries devastating weight.

The ensemble cast includes Archie Madekwe portraying Luke and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd in the role of DCI Rhys, adding further layers of tension and complexity to the unfolding drama.

Direction is handled by Sam Miller and Hettie Macdonald, with production overseen by Greg Brenman, Beccy De Souza, Sam Miller, Nuala O’Leary as series producer, and Vivien Kenny. The project is produced by Drama Republic in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.
