SRK announces 'Pathaan’ grand debut on OTT with 'fasten your seatbelts' tweet!

Those who didn’t manage to catch the blockbuster SRK starrer ‘Pathaan’ at the theatres, good news! The spy thriller is all set to make a grand debut on OTT.

The SRK-Deepika Padukone starrer will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, March 21. Fans of the movie can watch the mega-blockbuster in three languages on the platform: Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The social media handles of the platform announced the good news. “We sense the turbulence in the weather, after all, ‘Pathaan’ is coming! ‘Pathaan’ on Prime, March 22, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.”


The OTT platform also dropped a teaser that shows King Khan announcing ‘Pathaan’s digital debut in his trademark witty manner. Sporting a black T-shirt and pants, he tells the audience, “Aapni kursi ke peti bandh lo, kyun ki Pathaan aa gaya hain, sirf Prime Video par (fasten your seat belts, Pathaan is arriving)..."
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the espionage thriller is currently the highest-grossing Hindi film. It was the first Bollywood movie to earn over Rs 650 crore at the Indian box office. Overseas, the film also performed phenomenally well, minting over Rs 392 crore. The action thriller was also the first Bollywood film to collect more than $103 million at the global box office, without a release in China.

‘Pathaan’ depicts SRK as a RAW agent who is given the responsibility of taking down a terrorist group and its leader Jim (John Abraham) who is a rogue RAW agent turned terrorist. The movie marked Abraham’s return as a YRF (Yash Raj Film) villain, almost two decades after ‘Dhoom’. Incidentally, this is also Abraham’s fourth outing as the ‘baddie’ after ‘Dhoom’, ‘Aitbaar’, and ‘Ek Villain 2’.

The movie also marked Khan’s return to the silver screen after a nearly five-year-long hiatus. It also ended Bollywood’s dry spell at the BO as it opened big and remained steady at the box office.
