The makers had earlier announced that the film would arrive on OTT on February 19, 2026. However, that plan did not go through. The release was pushed by a week. Now, Sri Chidambaram Garu will begin streaming on ETV Win from February 26, 2026.The platform confirmed the new date through its official social media handle. The caption read, “New date. Same blockbuster magic. The film that touched millions is ready to shine again. Sri Chidambaram Garu premieres Feb 26 on @etvwin.”
So as of now, February 26 is the confirmed streaming date. Viewers can watch it exclusively on ETV Win.
Directed by Vinay Ratnam, the film is set in a rural Godavari village backdrop. It revolves around a young man named Solomon, played by Vamsi Tummala. He lives with guilt and carries emotional baggage from his past. On top of that, he struggles with personal insecurity due to his squint eye and is often seen hiding behind goggles. He even lives under a borrowed identity, which adds to his internal conflict.
The plot moves forward when he falls in love with a young woman, played by Sandhya Vasishta. She rejects his proposal. Solomon begins to think that her decision is because of his appearance. From there, the story focuses on how he deals with rejection, social judgment, and his own self-doubt. Love and personal loss act as turning points. How he faces his fears and tries to prove himself forms the main part of the narrative.
Box office performance and cast
Sri Chidambaram Garu was a low-budget village romantic drama and featured relatively new faces in lead roles. Because of that, the pre-release buzz was limited. Many people were not even aware that the film had hit theatres.According to trade tracking portals, the film reportedly collected around ₹36 lakh during its full theatrical run. Due to low occupancy, it ran in cinemas for just six days before being withdrawn. Despite this, the team believes the film carries emotional depth and a relatable love story. A few critics who watched it mentioned that the narrative felt simple and heartfelt.
The film stars Vamsi Tummala and Sandhya Vasishta in the lead roles. Supporting actors include Gopinath, Sivakumar Matta, Kalpalatha Garllapati, Arun Kumar, Tulasi, Naidu Moram and Shankar Rao.
