The wait is over as the makers unveiled the official trailer of the upcoming Marvel series, Spider Noir, featuring Nicolas Cage. The show is set in 1930s New York and revolves around the darker side of Spider-Verse. Now, fans in India can't wait to see Oscar winner actor's first leading TV series role.

Spider-Noir trailer unveiled

The trailer of Spider-Noir opens with a moody glimpse of a crime-ridden New York, soaked in shadows and mystery. Unlike the bright versions of Spider-Man seen before, this series promises a gritty, noir-inspired take on the iconic superhero world. Within minutes, it becomes clear that this is not a typical Marvel story.

Nicolas Cage steps into the role of Ben Reilly. In this version, Reilly is shown as an aging and struggling private investigator trying to survive in 1930s New York. However, his troubled present is closely tied to a secret past, he was once the city’s only masked vigilante. The trailer presents Cage as both a weary detective and a black-suited web-slinger.

One of the most talked-about moments from the trailer is its powerful tagline: “With No Power Comes No Responsibility.” The line flips the classic Spider-Man motto on its head, setting the tone for a darker and more introspective narrative. Fans online have already begun discussing how this twist could redefine the character in this alternate universe.

Streaming details of Spider-Noir

Adding to the excitement, the makers have announced that the series will premiere on May 27. In India, viewers can stream it on Prime Video. The show will follow a binge-release format, meaning all episodes will drop at once, allowing fans to watch the full story in one go.

In an interesting creative move, the series will be available in two formats, Authentic Black & White and True-Hue Full Color. The black-and-white version pays homage to classic noir cinema and the muted style of the original comics, while the colour version offers a modern visual experience.

The ensemble cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson.

The series has been developed for television by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot and is produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Lord Miller Productions, Pascal Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios. The first two episodes have been directed and executive produced by Harry Bradbeer, while Uziel and Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners. The project has also been developed with the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, including Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.
