SP leader Abu Azmi slams Suchitra Krishnamoorti for 'azaan rant' on Twitter

Yet again, the azaan controversy has caught everyone's attention.

Four months after Sonu Nigam called azaan 'gundagardi' (hooliganism), actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi went on a Twitter rant calling them 'low-life' and 'dumb'.

Soon after, her tweets attracted a lot of criticism. One of them was from Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi. Azmi told Times Now, "Actors have no authority over the nation. The loudspeaker will continue to exist. I wake up at 5AM and do namaz."

Furthermore, he went on to make misogynistic remarks, "These actresses are spoiling the Indian culture. They get drunk till 2AM and put their arms around other men."
