South Korean rapper Ch1tkey faked his death, admits it was promotion for new song
Ch1tkey also declared that he would start carrying a chainsaw instead of a gun and disturbingly expressed a desire to consume human flesh. News of his alleged death had circulated earlier in the week, even leading his girlfriend to write a 'tribut...

On Wednesday, Ch1tkey posted a video on Instagram where he confirmed that his death was staged. According to Koreaboo, he said, “I’m not just seeking attention. I tried to make a comeback with my album, but I ended up being so smart that I deceived even my family. So the police, reporters came to my house, and news reports came out.” He explained that when the police arrived, his friend hid him, but he was eventually discovered when he went to a convenience store. In the video, he shared a cryptic message: “God told me that I am good and Korean people are bad. So pretending to be moral while doing bad things online is wrong. What I’m doing is ‘what God wanted,’ according to what God told me.”
Ch1tkey also claimed he would now carry a chainsaw instead of a gun and expressed a desire to eat human flesh. The news of his supposed death had spread earlier in the week, even prompting his girlfriend to write a 'tribute' note.
Ch1tkey is not the first artist to fake their death this year. Earlier, Indian artist Poonam Pandey also faked her death. On February 2, her 'death' was announced via a post on her official Instagram account. However, the next day, she released a video statement revealing she was alive, explaining that the death hoax was intended to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
